Arizona

you wear sadness
like a crown of
calla lilies and bird skulls.

your desert moon face
cookie-cutter
in milky way memories.

you know,
the sun's bright here
and the birds sing
and you think of
dead mothers and how
someone poured acid
on a little girl's face.

the grand canyon
sentences, too deep
and too wide.

incomprehensible
Psyche at the cliff,
loving nowhere.

goodbye fullness

remember? the time you took my sweatshirt and wiped away the dead mayflies on your headlights.

your stance and shadow from behind the dash murky, yet as memorable as mother’s funeral.

like the new moon finds a hiding place in the umbra of the Earth, her face finds refuge under mine.

do you see it now, I wonder? With clearer eyes, high beams disengaging the night-flies at your lashes.

do you hate it? My nose a tombstone, my lips an entrance to the crypt, teeth picket fences saying no,

you may not have her back, you only have me, half of her, a half-moon half submerged in night.

I only shine half as bright, lighting the path enough to frighten, making anxious on what lies ahead.

goodbye fullness, I said long ago, while you still wait for lunar landings, I wait for the sun.

Pen Sketch

Last Place

Done hanging with broken girls, with
Soprano softness slithering slight
Hands, sliding out reddened barbed
Feathers a new shuffling skin to paint.
I’m all clear for landing meteorites
Atmosphere atom-bombs appear like
Spring rain, slow then sharp on twi-
light loose days like these ones.
Did the mind win the loss? Pyrrhic
Victory viral victims of vile verses
Please elaborate more clearest dear,
Finished reading between empty lines.

Thursday ;

I spend most of my seconds today capturing images. I rendered a half-ass drawing of some full-assed model who fell asleep mid-pose. I don't blame her, it was a long morning and the temperature of the room must have felt awful nice in the nude. In fact, I'm almost jealous of her. Almost.

We used mixed media, taking already used paintings on soft paper and building a figure drawing with vine, then compressed charcoal. From there, I mixed with crushed charcoal and gesso to make gray washes, and went at smoothing out her form. It took much longer than expected, with little results. It took me many attempts to render the drawing, and by the end, I was unsatisfied.

Wednesday;

Took hold of my life by starting the morning with a bowl of soggy Kashi and counting my breaths. It's become more possible for my awareness be heightened by the night before, a mixture of nightmares and nail-biting. It's become so peaceful in the waking world, since I was given two more projects to work on. I'm greatly excited to keep these lids taped open, truly, so that I can submerge myself in pink foam and rubber. The screech of the material when I drag a razor through it is visceral and makes my hairs stand, and the idea of the slow, honey-like rubber mold being made and set soon makes me giggle in delight. By the end of semester, I better be staring at two fucking interesting sculptures.

On a more important note:

If you have the time, I highly suggest you look up the artist Adrian Villar Rojas. Argentinian based, he creates sculptures and installations that are absolutely breathtaking.

Here is a video of this beautiful artist:

- NEW -

Not much these days to share that will take you in, yeah?

My name is Juniper Yun Kruser, I'm a sophomore in the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin -- Milwaukee. My major is Fine Arts, with a focus in Sculpture. My minor is in Global Studies.

I suppose these aren't the important details though. I've many
incarnations, many philosophies, and many passions.

And I suppose this is a dumping zone for that.

Please stay and enjoy the show.
